Do you have a unique idea which can be developed into a business but lack funding to make it a reality? Here is an opportunity for you. The Campus Innovation Challenge will make your dreams come true as it gives you the opportunity to become a millionaire and develop your brand. All you need to win is to have a very innovative business idea.
This innovation challenge is being organized by Union Bank in collaboration with Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) and “aims to discover and support students with bright, innovative, technology-driven ideas that address social and business challenges in the areas of agriculture, education, financial inclusion, millennial banking and creative arts”.
Entries for this contest will end on the 5th of August, 2018. Meanwhile, there will be the Idea Sprint Workshop in various universities across the country including Federal University of Technology, Owerri, University of Abuja, University of Benin, Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Lagos. The workshop is to guide participants on how to organize their ideas and make quality entries into the challenge.
At the closing of entries, applicants who are shortlisted will be invited to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. August 6-17 has been mapped out to allow these applicants prepare their pitch. The judges will choose three winners with the three most innovative ideas and they will receive 1.5 Million Naira, 1 Million Naira and 500 Thousand Naira respectively.
The three winners will also be enrolled into a 6-month incubation program with CcHub “where they will receive the necessary support to birth their innovative ideas”. In this program, the ideas will be supported in the areas of product development, distribution and business modelling so as to generate fully working products to be launched in early 2019.
